'Open', Liverpool

Project 500, JD Sports’s fashion division’s first store, Open, was a major design project requiring lighting for over 3,700 square metres of retail space in the centre of Liverpool. The design brief, which called for crisp, clean white lines, was based on the periodic table and influenced by Prada’s New York store. It required over 1,500 light fittings using over 2,000 lamps. The track-mounted spotlights were designed specifically for the project. The entire installation is controlled via a lighting control system which enables the lighting to be dimmed to best reflect seasonal stock.
