Proctor & Brosgill, Harrogate

Proctor & Brosgill is a privately-owned chain of Opticians with branches in the North of England. Their Harrogate branch was undergoing a major refit, but getting the lighting right was proving a problem. The design brief, from Clive Boydell Retail Design, stressed the importance of providing crisp, clean and true lighting with no colour distortion on either horizontal or vertical surfaces.

Liteideas was called in, and achieved the required effect using 25 metal halide adjustable scoop luminaires (from Gamma) for total flexibility. A number of fluorescent downlighters and luminaires were also used to create the best colour temperature. The result was a modern, bright atmosphere throughout the two-storey branch. Clive Boydell’s opinion of our work? "Brilliant." Enough said!
